Resolutions. We all write them, or at least think about writing them, about once a year.

This year my list goes like this:

-Improve at daily personal prayer

-Improve at daily personal scripture study

-Journal and/or blog more often

-Pray for confidence and knowledge so that I can focus on my patients instead of being self-conscious.

My turn for an introduction!

My name is Maurine. I'm a 4th year med student at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. But let's start at the beginning.

There’s a big part of me that hates the idea of blogging. Blogging can be this very arrogant statement of, “I’m a fascinating person. I know you want to know all about me. Here’s my blog. And you’re welcome.” But I also love that a blog is a simple way of using your voice when you feel like what you have to say really is important. And I think the lack of support for Mormon women who are premeds or med students is important. My friends have reminded me recently, through their own blogs and a new “Mormon Women in Medicine” facebook group, that we have the ability to reach out and provide support to ambitious Mormon women who need it.
